The imagination of children never ceases to amaze me. The untouched innocence and imagination is spectacular!
This morning, my son, Jaden brought out his tub of blocks and eagerly wanted to build a rocket and a castle. Off to the living room floor I went with much anticipation of the breaking down of what we were going to build.
These blocks have been part of Jaden's life since he could grasp them. Once used for gross motor skill development; they've found their new place with fine motor skill development and more importantly, a key to the imagination of my son's mind.

I LOVE it! Looks like a great installment for "Offbeat Homes" for Jennifer!
As a mommy of a creative son, we see tons of neato structures around here, too. And my guy never ceases to amaze me, either.
We're pretty dang lucky, aren't we?
:)

We are most definitely lucky to have amazing little imaginative boys! I couldn't picture my life without the daily excitement that comes from turning a bucket into a party hat or a storage tub into a race car.
Children are amazing - especially when you allow them the opportunity to be just that -- Children.
I think you are right - perhaps we should suggest Jennifer working a piece on childhood homes for offbeat. Fantastic idea!
Heck, I could contribute photos and I'm sure you could, too. I'll bet Jennifer's son could build something spectacular!
Perhaps it could be labeled: "A Child's Perfect House" or "The Perfect House is Child's Play" (or something much wittier than I'm able to come up with on a Friday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. when I have deadlines due by 5:00 p.m. and my son is chattering and the laundry is calling and I'm hungry but can't stop to eat and...)
Okay, just stop me now... :)

You sound like me! I've managed to send off 5 resumes for positions this morning, completed editing another eight articles for Broker Agent, played with my son, sought out a few more leads, blogged a couple times now and even popped over to OffBeat and left a little message for Ms Jennifer. However, it's 1:20 and I'm starving, the laundry is beckoning and I'm in dire need of a nap before I have to go in for my LAST weekend at the bar.
Here's to busy mom's making it through their day!
HA Mysti, you surprised me. Here I was thinking you had a castle castle. This one is slick though.
I've actually been working on a child installment for a while now. It's still in the works (the boy and I are building a sugar cube castle). I had the idea from my first post ever -- in which I put a deck of cards house. BUT huge cards. It's not a bad idea to put a call-out to readers though. Have them send me stuff too. I don't have enough stuff for a good one. Very cute boy Mysti!
P.S if people talk about me behind my back does that make me famous? Yea! ;) Or does it just make me Hilton like? Yikes!
Hey now - at least what was said wasn't bad! And I jumped to tell you that we were talking about you and your offbeat blog! :)
Thanks for the compliment of my boy. :) He's my pride and joy!

Mysti:
Oh. My. Gawd.
What do you think of that JENNIFER over at Offbeat? I cannot believe she thinks she's SO HOT.
As if!
I am so not impressed.

[Incidentally, the above is all meant in friendly sarcasm!)
hahahahaahaha!! I just had to laugh out loud to that one!
